Transformational Breathing™
Transformational Breathing is a powerful technique that opens restricted
breathing patterns, and helps us connect more fully with our life-force
and well-being. Transformation is about change; if you improve or optimize
the way you breathe, you can live a happier and healthier life.
It’s time to catch your breath!
Most people who have tried Transformational Breathing have claimed
that they have received years of “therapy” in just a few sessions.
Shallow breathers are not taking in enough oxygen, which is what nourishes
our blood and entire body. Breath-holders are not releasing the waste
product of Carbon Dioxide from their body. Such patterns prevent us from
living vibrantly; our bodies are supposed to be nourished and detoxified
from regular breathing.
Muscular tension can be the cause of restricted breathing patterns,
but our thoughts and emotions can also alter the
flow of our breath. Dysfunctional breathing patterns
occur subconsciously, and when a conscious breathing
technique such as Transformational Breathing is
employed, we become more aware of our tension,
thoughts, and feelings that contribute to poor health.
Here’s what people say about Transformational Breathing with
Gail:
“I initially got involved in Breathwork as a training activity
for a trek in Nepal. As I progressed through
the work it became abundantly clear that it was
far less about the physics of my breathing than about
how my breathing is what connects and integrates
my physical and spiritual being. Breathwork provided
me with a breakthrough in my well-being and
continues to be a powerful catalyst in my growth.” – R.S.,
MA
“My first session was very powerful and brought up a lot of emotions.
I was surprised to have such a strong reaction from just breathing!!
For a long time I experienced fear before each session, and felt that
I didn’t want to go, but after the session was over, I always felt
a release of emotion that it was well worth it.” – D.R.,
MA
“I was surprised when the very first session of group breathwork
with Gail made such a difference in my breathing
pattern. I could finally sing with a stronger
voice, the “breathy” quality
was gone…I
could hold notes for longer periods—and I was no longer unconsciously
holding my breath. I became aware of how much
more often I found myself laughing. Life in general
seemed lighter and easier; it’s quite
a moving experience.” – J.R., MA
From L.D. in Sharon, MA:
What is breathwork?
L.D.: Breathwork is deep breathing that releases emotions held not
only in the mind, but in the body. You might
laugh, you might get angry, you might cry. Gail
will gently coach you on what you need to
do and think about. I’m not sure why it works so well, but it
does.
Why do breathwork?
L.D.: When I go in to see Gail before a breathwork session,
I feel some combination of: cold, heavy, weary, sad,
anxious, tight, or numb. When I leave I feel:
refreshed, light, free, happy, relaxed, transformed,
centered, mindful, and aware of what I need to
do to keep these feelings.
When should I do breathwork?
L.D.: Breathwork is good whenever you are feeling cold, heavy, weary,
sad, anxious, tight, numb or just ready. The
reasons/answers will emerge in the session. I
learned different lessons in different sessions.
The information that emerges is so true and helpful
that I write it down in a journal after each
session. Breathwork allows you to access
your inner knowledge so you can learn, forgive,
be grateful, and be present. It is difficult
to describe, but with Gail it is not difficult
to do. It is extremely rewarding. Try it and
see!
