Diphragmatic Breathing & Breathwork
Gail
Martin, LMT, CYT provides diphragmatic breathing therapy at her office
just outside Boston, Massachusetts. Diphragmatic breathing, also
called "transformational breathing" or "breathwork," is
a powerful technique that helps to open restricted breathing patterns,
and helps us connect to our life force. Diphragmatic breathing is about change.
By improving the way we breathe through diphragmatic breathing, we
can live a healthier and happier life.
What is diphragmatic breating?
Diphragmatic breathing is a transformational breathing
method that enables us to breathe deeper, thus providing more oxygen
to the blood and giving us more energy to do the things we want to
do. Poor breathing patterns such as shallow breathing and breath
holding, decrease the amount of oxygen in our bodies, making us more
lethargic and unable to accomplish things we want to do. Diphragmatic
breathing can help to greatly increase energy and relieve chronic
fatigue.
How can diphragmatic breathing help me?
Diphragmatic breathing can help to relieve muscular
tension and alleviate stress. People who are shallow breathers are
not taking in enough oxygen that can cause, stress and fatigue. People
who hold their breath are not releasing Carbon Dioxide from their
body, which can cause acute toxicity. These dysfunctional breathing
patterns occur unconsciously, and when a conscious breathing technique
such as diphragmatic breathing is employed, we become more aware
of our tension and can help to relieve it.
